About the Richmondshire Gymnastics Club
Formed in 2008, the goal of the Richmondshire Gymnastics Club is to provide fun gymnastics instruction through recreational and competitive programmes for boys and girls. Gymnastics is a wonderful sport, which teaches your child coordination, physical fitness, rhythm, strength and flexibility. Gymnastics is a “whole body” sport involving muscles from head to toe. It also teaches concentration and mental stamina and has both an individual and a team aspect. At Richmondshire Gymnastics Club, we strive to provide a fun atmosphere for all children while helping them develop gymnastics skills. The Club believes strongly in its mission statement:

for each gymnast

*to enable each gymnast to achieve their potential
*to provide a safe learning environment
*to provide qualified coaches in all classes
Richmondshire Gymnastics Club is registered with British Gymnastics, and all coaches are qualified and CRB checked by British Gymnastics. The club has adopted the British Gymnastics policies for Child Protection, Health, Safety and Welfare, and Equity and all officials, coaches, members and parents must adhere to these policies. The club is committed to safeguarding all participants and has a trained welfare officer to deal with any child protection / poor practice issues that may arise. The club achieved ‘GYMMARK’ for excellent quality and performance in 2009.
All gymnasts will also be required to register with British Gymnastics. This provides insurance for your children and validates our coaching staff qualifications. The cost of this is £15 per year.
